A live online event for internationals who want to understand how business really works here.
Starting a business in Denmark can be both exciting and confusing. The rules seem different for internationals, and the information available online often does not reflect the reality you face when trying to register, find clients, or understand your tax obligations.
After speaking with hundreds of internationals during International Citizens Day and in the weeks that followed, one theme became clear: many people want to create their own work but do not know where to begin. Some worry about whether their residence or visa status allows them to start a business. Others are unsure about the legal steps, the registration process, or what it really means to “work for yourself” in Denmark.

These conversations inspired us to host this event: a space where you can ask the questions that have no simple answers online. For two hours, we will discuss what it truly takes to start a business here and dedicate a full hour to your questions. Our goal is to demystify the process, remove unnecessary fear, and show that entrepreneurship in Denmark is possible, and often simpler than it seems once you understand the system.
To make this possible, We Are Entrepreneurs has brought together three professionals who have each built their own businesses in Denmark and now help others do the same.
Madalina Henter, founder of Expat Solutions Legal Consult, is a lawyer specialising in business registration, taxation, and compliance for internationals.
Florin Lungu, Executive Coach and Leadership Facilitator, helps entrepreneurs and leaders build trust, influence, and confidence in their professional journey.
Diana Medrea-Mogensen, founder of We Are Entrepreneurs, works with expats and creative professionals to turn their skills into sustainable income through training, mentoring, and European initiatives.
The session will be moderated by Zayana Pompaeva, community facilitator at We Are Entrepreneurs.
Who This Event Is For
This session is designed for internationals and newcomers in Denmark who are considering creating their own business or have already taken the first steps but feel uncertain about the next ones. It is also relevant for small business owners who want to ensure their registration, taxes, and business practices are compliant and well-structured.
If you have ever asked yourself questions like “Can I even register a business with my visa?”, “Where do I start?”, or “What if I make a mistake?”, this event is for you.
Why Attend
Because it is time to replace uncertainty with clarity.
You will hear real experiences, learn what actually matters, and gain insight into both the legal and personal aspects of working independently in Denmark.
This is not a theoretical presentation or a motivational talk. It is a practical discussion with professionals who understand the system and the challenges from the inside. You will leave with clear answers, useful links, and the confidence to take your next step — whether that means registering your business, refining your offer, or planning your financial setup.
